Students will embark on an unforgettable language and cultural immersion experience at our summer camp in Medellín, Colombia. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and language of Medellín, making unforgettable memories and learning Spanish along the way. Accompanying parents/guardians will receive information about hotel recommendations and tourist activities upon booking. Join us for an enriching summer adventure with SCDS Lower School Spanish teacher, Profe Erick Linares and visual arts/graphic design teacher, Margarita Medina. Attending a language immersion camp offers a unique and enriching experience, blending language learning with cultural immersion. Students can significantly improve their skills through daily practice, engaging activities, and interactions with native speakers. The camp environment fosters rapid language acquisition, boosts social and emotional learning skills, and enhances communication abilities. Additionally, cultural activities and excursions with students from different backgrounds deepen understanding and appreciation of people from various cultures, making the learning both fun and memorable.  Our experienced teachers and partners work at independent schools in the USA or in schools in Medellín, Colombia. Many draw from their own experiences learning English as an additional language, as immigrants or as children of immigrants in the United States of America. Combined, teachers and consultants have over 70 years working in education and diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice. With a deep commitment to connecting to our common humanity, we offer a relationship-based approach to developing visionary change agents worldwide. Priority will be given to Seattle Country Day School families.
