Equidad y pertenencia

Educator TEstimonials From the Retreat

On the Greatest impact during the retreat:
"Throughout college, graduate school, and countless professional development workshops, I have always struggled with somatic practice exercises. I questioned their purpose and value and often found them to be unhelpful for me. However, something shifted in my mindset this week. The continued practice, combined with the different types of somatic exercises introduced and the challenging work we were engaging in, opened my mind to the importance and value of this practice. It gave me an opportunity to reflect, connect more deeply with myself, and build community with my colleagues and peers."
"The vulnerability of the individuals in the room to speak from their experiences and the amazing resources shared to begin implementing the hard work that lies ahead- all with a gentle, supportive, yet honest approach."
"I'm incredibly grateful to have had this experience. It was powerful, eye-opening, reflective, and validating. I look forward to continuing to use the VCA framework and questioning strategies in my teaching practice."
"I deeply appreciated my experience with this new group. The guidance the team provided was invaluable - they provided space for reflection on how we present authentic selves to both students and our colleagues. As well, spending time with inclusive practitioners allowed for a restorative and celebratory space for our shared work."
